The Gala of the Contest – ‘We care about our city – we fight against smog’

On November 29th, the Gala of the art contest “We care for our city – we fight against smog” was held. It was the second edition of the inter-school competition. This year students took up the challenge to design anti-smog masks.
We are very pleased that so many pupils have enrolled the contest and have sent us their pieces of work. Smog is undeniably a universal problem and a matter of our deep concern. Works have been sent not only from Krakow, but also from many other places such as Zakopane or lying in a valley – Siepraw, as well. All awards and distinctions have been displayed in a school lobby.
The Award Ceremony was honoured by the presence of Ms Anna Prokop-Staszecka the director of Krakow John Paul II Hospital who pointed out the importance of fight against smog and its detrimental effect on our health. The chairman of the jury Mr Piotr Jargusz congratulated the young artists on their great creativity, imagination and commitment. The Head of our school Mrs Barbara Prokop expressed her hope that in a few years’ time we would have been able to announce a competition entitled “We care for our city – we have won with smog”.
